About this opportunity

Are you passionate about helping older people live meaningful, connected and fulfilling lives?

Moran is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Lifestyle Coordinator to join our Care Team at Moran Sylvania.

  • Shift Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm | $39.63 - $41.14 base hourly rate

As a member of the home's leadership team, you will work closely with the Care Manager and wider leadership team to develop, coordinate and deliver a dynamic, person-centred lifestyle and wellbeing program that supports residents' individual interests, choices, abilities and aspirations.

This is an opportunity to lead a dedicated team in creating engaging experiences that promote residents' independence, dignity, social connection and quality of life. Working collaboratively with care staff, on-site physiotherapists, families, volunteers and community partners, you will help ensure that every resident has opportunities to participate in activities that are meaningful to them.

You will also contribute to the continuous improvement of lifestyle services, ensuring programs reflect residents' changing preferences, cultural backgrounds, spiritual beliefs and individual needs.

At Moran, we value our people and the difference they make every day. You will be supported and mentored to develop your skills in a rewarding environment with modern facilities and a dedicated team committed to quality care.

Key responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate lifestyle programs: Develop, implement and regularly review a varied monthly program of individual and group activities that support residents' social, recreational, cultural and spiritual wellbeing.
  • Develop individual lifestyle plans: Understand residents' life stories, interests, abilities and preferences, ensuring programs reflect their individual goals and choices.
  • Promote resident engagement and choice: Encourage meaningful participation while respecting each resident's right to choose how they spend their time, including the choice not to participate.
  • Coordinate staff and volunteers: Provide guidance and support to lifestyle and care staff involved in activities, and coordinate volunteers and external providers.
  • Build strong relationships: Work collaboratively with residents, families, representatives, community groups and the wider multidisciplinary care team.
  • Manage events and resources: Coordinate celebrations, entertainment, outings and special events, including activity resources, budgets and scheduling.
  • Maintain accurate documentation: Ensure lifestyle plans, activity calendars, participation records, evaluations and other required documentation are accurate and current.
  • Support quality and compliance: Promote resident rights, dignity, safety and inclusion, contribute to continuous improvement and ensure lifestyle services are delivered in accordance with organisational policies and applicable aged-care requirements.
  • Support enhanced lifestyle offerings: Where applicable, coordinate approved Higher Everyday Living Fee (HELF) lifestyle services in accordance with resident agreements and organisational procedures, while ensuring standard lifestyle services remain available to all residents.
About you

You are an organised, compassionate and proactive professional who enjoys bringing people together and creating opportunities for older people to maintain their interests, relationships and sense of purpose.

You will ideally bring:

  • Certificate IV in Leisure and Health or currently working towards the qualification.
  • Experience in a lifestyle, leisure, recreation or similar role, preferably within residential aged care.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate and evaluate engaging activities and programs.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, staff, volunteers and external providers.
  • A person-centred approach that respects individual choice, dignity, independence and cultural diversity.
  • Confidence coordinating staff, volunteers, events and resources.
  • Strong documentation skills and an understanding of the importance of safety, quality and continuous improvement.
  • Initiative, creativity and a genuine commitment to enhancing residents' quality of life.
  • Employment requirements
  • Current eligibility to work in Australia.
  • Current National Police Check, or willingness to obtain one, in accordance with applicable requirements.
  • Compliance with applicable aged-care screening, immunisation and infection prevention requirements and Moran policies.
