Job description

People Advisor - Build a Team From Day One

Help us stand up a new team in the ACT, from recruiting and onboarding the first hires through to performance and engagement. You will be the trusted People partner to leaders and employees as a new contract mobilises.

About Us

Acusensus was founded with a simple but compelling belief, that nobody should die on our roads. We build the technology that detects the Fatal Five dangerous driving behaviours; speeding, mobile phone use, seatbelt non-compliance, fatigue, and drug or alcohol impairment and and supports the enforcement programs that change them. We delivered the world's first mobile phone detection program in New South Wales and the world's first automated mobile device and seatbelt program in Queensland. Today we operate across four continents, working with governments, road authorities and police services to help reduce road trauma.

About the role

As People Advisor, you build a high-performing, engaged team in Canberra. You report to the Senior People Business Partner in our Team Experience and Performance team.

What you'll do

  • Lead end-to-end recruitment for the new contract, from sourcing and interviewing through to offer, with a strong candidate experience at every step.
  • Deliver a structured onboarding program so new team members are set up from day one and connected to our culture and values.
  • Partner with people leaders on goal-setting, regular feedback and career development conversations, and coach managers to hold them with confidence.
  • Guide employee relations matters, including performance management, grievances and workplace conflict, with fair process and compliance with the Fair Work Act.
  • Lead engagement initiatives, including pulse surveys and feedback analysis, and turn the insights into improvement actions.
  • Support remuneration and levelling work, including salary reviews and internal mobility, and use HR data to report on performance trends, engagement and workforce planning.
  • Work with our HSEQ team to build safety, wellbeing and psychosocial safety into people initiatives.

The role includes occasional national travel at short notice. Because we operate globally, some early mornings, evenings or weekends may be needed.

We build technology to make roads safer. That mission doesn't stop when we leave for the day, it shows up every time we get behind the wheel of a vehicle to be role model drivers. An Employment offer is subject to a criminal history check and a driving history check, plus any further checks needed to meet the obligation's of our clients.
