Job summary

One Door Mental Health in Tamworth is seeking a collaborative Peer Practitioner for a fixed-term, full-time role, 38 hours per week. You will champion co-design and co-production practices, placing the service user at the centre of their journey.

You will draw on lived experience to support adults with mental health distress, deliver outreach visits, build trust and connect people to appropriate supports. The role offers salary packaging, wellbeing benefits and extra leave options.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Mental Health, Peer Work, Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) or related field.
• Completion of Intentional Peer Support Core/Advanced Training is desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Utilise learnings from personal recovery to support service users.
• Provide peer-based support by building trust and offering empathetic engagement.
• Deliver outreach-based peer support to engage clients in community settings.
• Contribute to a culturally responsive workforce and service environment.
