Job summary

Metcash Limited is seeking a Payroll Systems Compliance and Governance Manager to own the Chris21 payroll platform, oversee governance, audits and risk remediation, and drive automation and continuous improvement. The role collaborates with Payroll, P&C, Finance, IT and Time & Attendance to strengthen controls and ensure compliant payroll operations.

You’ll lead system integrity, upgrades, and security while leveraging advanced Excel and large datasets to identify opportunities for efficiency

Qualifications

• 7+ years’ payroll management experience.
• Strong payroll compliance, governance, risk and auditing expertise.
• Knowledge of Awards, EBAs, payroll tax and relevant legislation.
• Experience with payroll and Time & Attendance systems.
• Strong analytical skills with large payroll datasets.
• Advanced Excel and payroll systems capability.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own and optimise Chris21, including configuration, security, upgrades and system integrity.
• Lead payroll audits, compliance reviews and risk remediation.
• Strengthen payroll governance, controls and processes.
• Analyse payroll data to identify risks, discrepancies and improvement opportunities.
• Partner across Payroll, P&C, Finance, IT and Time & Attendance.
• Support payroll integrations, automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain compliance with payroll legislation, tax and reporting obligations
