Job summary

Metcash Limited, Australia’s leading wholesale distributor, seeks a Senior Payroll Manager to own Chris21, governance, security and upgrades, ensuring accurate payroll and robust controls. You will analyse large datasets and drive improvements across Payroll, P&C, Finance and IT.

You’ll collaborate to automate processes, uphold payroll legislation and reporting obligations, with hybrid work and onsite parking options.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of payroll management experience.
• Strong knowledge of awards, EBAs and payroll tax.
• Experience with Chris21 or iChris systems.
• Advanced Excel and payroll systems capability.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication.

Responsibilities

• Own and optimise Chris21, including configuration, security, upgrades and system integrity.
• Lead payroll audits, compliance reviews and risk remediation.
• Strengthen payroll governance, controls and processes.
• Analyse payroll data to identify risks, discrepancies and improvements.
• Partner across Payroll, P&C, Finance, IT and Time & Attendance.
• Support payroll integrations, automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain compliance with payroll legislation, tax and reporting obligations.
