Job summary

Service NSW is seeking a Team Leader Payroll & Compliance to oversee UKG system administration, ensuring accurate configuration and compliance with awards and legislation across NSW. You will analyse payroll data, collaborate with operation teams and drive continuous improvement to deliver accurate payroll outcomes.

The role supports workforce payroll across multiple locations in NSW, with a focus on efficiency, accuracy, and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• Experience administering workforce payroll systems within a complex operational environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and develop practical solutions.
• Knowledge of workforce management practices, including award interpretation, payroll processes and operational rostering principles.
• Proven ability to build productive relationships and influence stakeholders across multiple business areas.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• A proactive approach to continuous improvement, delivering efficient, customer-focused outcomes while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain UKG system, ensuring accurate configuration and compliance with awards, legislation and business requirements.
• Analyse system performance, payroll data and business processes to identify opportunities for optimisation and continuous improvement.
• Investigate and resolve complex payroll-related issues.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, support system enhancements and implement process improvements.
• Coordinate testing, validation and deployment of system updates, upgrades and new functionality.
• Provide expert advice, training and support to users, helping build workforce payroll capability across the organisation.
