Job summary

NSW Health’s St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney payroll team is seeking a dedicated payroll professional to support service delivery for over 4,000 staff. You will report to the Team Leader, ensuring accurate payroll processing under health service policies and multi‑awards conditions.

This hybrid role offers two days of home-based work weekly and an extra 12 Accrued Days Off annually, with opportunities for professional growth within NSW Health’s renowned payroll and People & Culture division.

Qualifications

• Experience working in an internal payroll team in a complex high-volume environment.
• Friendly attitude with strong analytical skills.
• Exposure to CHRIS 21 or similar payroll system.
• Exposure to an automated time and attendance system, preferably Kronos or similar.
• Experience with Health awards/agreements or complex award conditions across multiple agreements.

Responsibilities

• Provide payroll service delivery to over 4000 hospital employees.
• Report to Payroll Services Team Leader and be part of a team of 7.
• Maintain high accuracy per health service policies and industrial frameworks.
• Act as a main contact for internal stakeholders across the hospital.
• Participate in process improvement projects to enhance payroll efficiency and quality.
• Work flexibly, with two days working from home each week.
• Enjoy 12 extra Accrued Days Off per year.
