Job summary

St John of God Health Care is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to deliver accurate and timely payroll services for caregivers across Western Australia. This permanent, full-time role processes fortnightly payroll and maintains master data in the HRIS, handling leave accruals, taxation, and salary packaging.

The role provides Tier 2 support, participates in audits, and contributes to continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in payroll administration.
• Interpret and apply industrial awards, enterprise agreements and relevant legislation.
• Strong communication, analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Experience with payroll systems (aPay, UKG or Workday) is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and apply award and payroll legislation to ensure accurate payroll processing.
• Maintain payroll master data accurately, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
• Process payroll transactions across the employee lifecycle, including commencements, changes, and terminations.
• Review, code and process timesheets and conduct payroll audits and compliance checks.
