Job summary

SEEK is seeking a Payroll Officer for a 9-month contract in Sydney's CBD, on-site, full-time, to manage payroll for the Banking & Finance sector and ensure timely salary and super payments in line with tax and audit requirements.

You will handle entitlements, respond to payroll queries from staff and managers, maintain confidentiality, support payroll systems, process hires and terminations, reconcile payroll figures, and produce management reports.

Qualifications

• Meridian mircopay experience is a MUST.
• Minimum 2 years local end-to-end payroll experience.
• Fluency in English and Mandarin communication skills at all levels.
• Bachelor qualification or higher.
• Good team player with attention to detail.
• Able to meet deadlines and manage time effectively.

Responsibilities

• Calculate and process employee entitlements including wages, superannuation contributions and benefits.
• Liaise with employees and managers regarding payroll queries and employment-related matters.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive payroll and employee information.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of payroll systems and processes.
• Processing new employees, terminations & statutory related payments etc.
• Reconcile payroll, payroll tax, insurance and authorized payroll deduction.
• Calculate and maintain leave entitlement.
• Provide reports to management as required to satisfy the payroll related information requests of the department.

About the role

The Payroll Officer is responsible for effective management of the Payroll function of the Banking & Finance sector.

This position is responsible for preparation and salary / Super payment and maintenance of related records, in a timely manner and in line with relevant taxation, legislative and audit requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Calculate and process employee entitlements including wages, superannuation contributions and employee benefits in accordance with awards and enterprise agreements
• Liaise with employees and managers regarding payroll queries and employment-related matters
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive payroll and employee information
• Support the implementation and maintenance of payroll systems and processes
• Processing new employees, terminations & statutory related payments etc
• Reconcile payroll, payroll tax, insurance and authorized payroll deduction
• Calculate and maintain leave entitlement
• Provide reports to management as required to satisfy the payroll related information requests of the department
