HumanKapital is seeking a full-time Payroll Officer to join our HR team in Newcastle, delivering accurate payroll services and outstanding client support. Responsibilities include end-to-end payroll processing, correcting under- and over-payments, applying Modern Awards and EBAs, and ensuring compliance with legislation, superannuation and payroll tax.

Payroll Officer

About the role

We are looking for a full-time Payroll Officer to work alongside our HR team to provide accurate advice and outstanding customer service to our clients.

• End-to-end payroll processing
• Payroll calculations of under payments and over payments
• Apply Modern Awards and EBAs correctly and confidently
• Ensure compliance with legislation, awards, superannuation, and payroll tax
• Support HR Consultants to handle client and employee payroll queries professionally and efficiently
• Stay up to date with relevant legislation

About you

• A qualification in Payroll, Business, Human Resources or a related field (desirable)
• 2-3+ years end-to-end payroll processing experience
• Demonstrated experience in using Employment Hero Payroll (desirable)
• Confident award and EBA interpretation
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Intermediate excel skills
• Have a solutions focused mindset
