About the company

Our client is a reputable health insurance provider looking for immediate support within their finance team due to an increased workload.

About the role

This position is a full time 3-month contract role based in the CBD of Melbourne and have a flexible working model (3 Days a week in the office).

Key Responsibilities:

• Run end-to-end payroll on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis, ensuring payments are accurate and on time
• Calculate earnings, penalties, allowances, bonuses, terminations and other payroll components in line with Awards, EBAs or contracts
• Reconcile payroll reports, audit timesheet or rostering data, and investigate discrepancies before finalising pay runs
• Manage leave calculations and accruals including annual, personal, long service and parental leave
• Process super, PAYG, payroll tax and other statutory deductions accurately and in line with deadlines
• Prepare EOFY reconciliations, STP submissions and payment summaries, and support audits as needed
• Act as the first point of contact for payroll queries, explaining payslips, deductions and entitlements clearly

About you

• At least 2-3 years’ experience within Payroll
• Experience in financial systems such as Chris21 (not essential but will be well regarded).
• A good understanding of modern awards.
• High level of attention to detail with proven level of quality and accuracy of work.
• Proactive research, analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and prioritise tasks in a high volume, fast paced environment.
• True team player.
• Intermediate level of Word and Excel.
