Job summary

Michael Page is seeking a Payroll Officer for a 12-month contract with a leading Australian organisation based in Logan. You will manage end-to-end payrolls, maintain records, and handle complex calculations while ensuring compliance with Australian payroll legislation.

You will collaborate with HR and Finance, provide excellent customer service, and contribute to data integrity. Hybrid working with two remote days per week is offered in a supportive team culture.

Qualifications

• Experience in a high-volume payroll role in a complex environment.
• Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and compliance.
• Experience with termination calculations, superannuation, PAYG and payroll tax.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and customer-service skills.

Responsibilities

Job Description

The Payroll Officer will be responsible for:

• End-to-end processing of weekly and monthly payrolls
• Maintaining employee records including commencements, terminations and employment changes
• Processing complex payroll calculations including leave, overtime, superannuation and statutory obligations
• Managing PAYG, payroll tax, workers compensation and long service leave requirements
• Responding to payroll-related employee enquiries and providing exceptional customer service
• Supporting payroll system workflows and data integrity
• Assisting with payroll reporting, reconciliations and compliance activities
• Collaborating with HR and Finance teams to ensure payroll accuracy and efficiency

The Successful Applicant

The successful Payroll Officer should have:

• Previous experience in a high volume Payroll Officer position in a complex environment
• Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation and compliance requirements
• Knowledge of termination calculations, superannuation, PAYG and payroll tax
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach
• Available for a 12 month contract
