Job summary

Kaisercraft is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join our Head Office team in Breakwater, Geelong. This on-site role is offered 3 days per week to full-time, with Monday and Tuesday fixed in the payroll cycle.

You will manage weekly payroll, timesheets, superannuation, PAYG tax and WorkCover, while maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance. Join a family-owned retailer with a strong growth mindset, offering a secure environment, fortnightly pay, and an onsite parking-friendly

Qualifications

• Experience in payroll processing in a multi-site environment.
• Strong understanding of superannuation and PAYG tax.
• Experience interpreting Modern Awards, especially General Retail Industry Award.

Responsibilities

The opportunity:

We’re looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Payroll Officer to join our Head Office team in Breakwater.

We’re open to candidates looking for 3 days per week through to full-time, depending on experience and availability. Monday and Tuesday are required working days due to our weekly payroll cycle.

This is a 100% on-site role based at our Breakwater Head Office.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

• Preparing and processing accurate and timely weekly payroll
• Reviewing and checking a high volume of employee timesheets
• Processing superannuation, PAYG tax and other payroll-related requirements
• Managing WorkCover requirements, including annual renewals and ongoing administration
• Responding to employee payroll, pay and leave enquiries
• Interpreting and applying relevant Modern Awards and payroll legislation
• Identifying payroll discrepancies and resolving issues before payroll is finalised
• Preparing, reviewing and analysing payroll reports
• Maintaining accurate employee and payroll records
• Supporting the business with payroll compliance and continuous improvement

You’ll enjoy the role if you:

• Have proven experience working in payroll, ideally within a multi-site or high-volume environment
• Have a strong understanding of superannuation, PAYG tax and WorkCover requirements
• Have experience interpreting Modern Awards, with knowledge of the General Retail Industry Award and/or Storage Services and Wholesale Award highly regarded
• Enjoy problem-solving and investigating payroll or timesheet discrepancies
• Have strong communication skills and are confident working with employees, managers and external providers
• Have excellent attention to detail and take pride in getting payroll right
• Can work autonomously while still being a collaborative member of the wider team
• Are confident using Microsoft Excel, Outlook and payroll/time attendance system
