Job summary

Anglicare Southern Queensland seeks a Payroll Lead to join the People and Culture team in Fortitude Valley. You will lead end-to-end payroll processing, ensure compliance, and manage payroll risks while supporting a positive employee experience.

You will oversee payroll governance, data integrity and reporting, and coach Payroll Advisors to deliver accurate, timely remuneration. This is a senior, hands-on leadership role in a modern, values-driven organisation.

Qualifications

• Experience leading end-to-end payroll processing in a mid-to-large organisation.
• Strong knowledge of payroll governance, compliance and integration with Awards and Enterprise Agreements.
• Proven ability to lead, coach and develop a payroll team.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end payroll processing to ensure accurate, compliant and timely payroll outcomes.
• Oversee payroll controls, reconciliations, approvals and statutory obligations before finalisation.
• Ensure payroll practices align with legislation, Awards, Enterprise Agreements and contracts.
• Provide technical payroll expertise on complex matters.
• Lead payroll governance, audits and risk management activities.
• Act as escalation point for complex payroll enquiries and discrepancies.
• Investigate issues, identify root causes and implement sustainable solutions.
• Oversee payroll reporting, data integrity and analysis for compliance and decision-making.
• Develop and coach Payroll Advisors to foster a collaborative, customer-focused culture.
• Drive process improvement, system optimisation and efficiency across payroll services.
