Job summary

Lane Cove Council is seeking a Payroll Coordinator to join the People & Culture team. Reporting to the Manager - People and Culture, you will oversee payroll activities, ensure accuracy, and provide expert payroll advice across the organisation.

The role requires extensive payroll experience, STP compliance, and strong knowledge of taxation and superannuation. Aids include 9-day fortnight flexibility, hybrid work options, and ongoing development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in end-to-end payroll processing within a structured organisation.
• Experience with Award interpretation, allowances and overtime calculations, and STP compliance.
• Strong knowledge of payroll taxation, superannuation, workers' compensation and related obligations.
• High proficiency with payroll systems, data integrity and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Provide expertise in payroll and remuneration, overseeing payroll professionals.
• Ensure accuracy, customer service and compliant payroll operations.
• Support the Manager – People and Culture and collaborate with the P&C team.
• Maintain secure and confidential payroll records in line with privacy and governance.
