Council in Lane Cove, NSW, is seeking a skilled Payroll Specialist to lead end-to-end payroll processing, STP compliance and remuneration guidance for employees. You will oversee payroll staff, ensure accuracy, and provide timely payroll advice within a supportive P&C team.

Reporting to the Manager – People & Culture, you will maintain confidential records, support system improvements, and contribute to payroll governance. Hybrid work options apply with competitive salary and 12% superannuation.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in end-to-end payroll processing within a structured organisation.
• Experience with timesheet administration, award interpretation, allowances and overtime, leave processing and STP compliance.
• Strong payroll management and compliance knowledge including taxation, superannuation, workers’ compensation and other payroll obligations.
• High-level competency with payroll systems, data integrity, reporting and troubleshooting.
• Excellent time management to meet payroll deadlines and manage priorities.
• Strong communication and customer service to provide clear payroll advice.
• Proven ability to maintain confidential payroll records with privacy and governance.
