Job summary

Mercedes-Benz Australia/Pacific Pty Ltd in Mulgrave, Victoria, is seeking a Payroll Consultant for a 12-month temporary role. You will collaborate with an external payroll provider to deliver end-to-end payroll for Australia and New Zealand, including expatriate payroll, STP, and statutory reporting.

Based in our Mulgrave head office, you will support Time and Pay processes within the People Team, with on-site parking, learning opportunities, and mentoring.

Qualifications

• Experience with Chris21 payroll system.
• Solid knowledge of current payroll legislation and requirements.
• Experience working with outsourced payroll providers.
• Excellent Excel skills with high attention to detail.
• Willingness to adopt new systems and AI tools for payroll efficiency.
• Positive, can-do attitude and teamwork orientation.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end payroll processing for Australia and New Zealand with external provider.
• Support expatriate payroll processing.
• Handle pay day superannuation and STP reporting.
• End-of-month processing including leave and statutory reporting.
• Collaborate with People, Tech and Finance for reporting and analytics.
• Ensure compliance and audit reporting.

In this 12-month temporary position based at our head office in Mulgrave, Victoria, you will join our high performing People Team and be responsible for Time and Pay support.

• Working with external payroll provider to deliver End to end payroll processing for Australia and New Zealand
• Supporting with Expatriate employee payroll processing
• Processing Pay Day superannuation and STP reporting
• End of Month Processing – including leave reporting, statutory reporting
• Working closely with People and Tech, along with Finance for adhoc reporting and analytics
• Compliance and audit reporting
• Collaborate with Finance, People and Tech and external payroll providers

Qualifications

What you will need to be successful:

• Experience in Chris21
• Sound knowledge of current legislation and payroll legal requirements
• Experience in working with an outsourced payroll provider
• Excellent excel skills with high attention to detail
• Ability to pick-up new systems quickly and a willingness to leverage AI tools to find payroll efficiencies
• A positive, can-do attitude and be ready to jump in and support other team members when required.

This is a 12-month temporary position (pay-rolled through a trusted third party) based at our head office in Mulgrave. The role can be performed part-time or full-time. A minimum of 22.5 hours per week, (with the flexibility to choose how you spread your hours across the week).
