Placements24 is seeking a Payroll Accountant to join the finance team in Australia. The role focuses on accurate and timely payroll processing, data reconciliation, and compliance with payroll legislation, tax regulations, and company policies.

You will manage payroll runs, respond to employee payroll inquiries, and support HR and Finance with process improvements. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, at least 4 years in payroll, and proficiency with VIP Payroll

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• A relevant payroll qualification is advantageous.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in payroll processing and accounting.
• Proficiency in VIP Payroll, Sage, and MS Excel.

Responsibilities

• Process semi-monthly or monthly payroll accurately, ensuring all employee data is correct.
• Manage payroll-related entries, including new hires, terminations, and changes in compensation.
• Reconcile payroll reports and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant labor laws, tax regulations, and company policies regarding payroll.
• Prepare and file payroll tax returns and other required government submissions.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for employee payroll inquiries.

About the Role
