Paralympics Australia in Sydney seeks an ambitious Business Development Manager to help grow a leading marketing consultancy for small businesses. You will learn the playbook from the founder, win new clients, and eventually build and lead a sales team.
You will drive inbound and outbound opportunities, network with small-business owners, and manage theSales pipeline while transitioning from sale to delivery.
Our client is one of Australia’s leading marketing consultancies for small businesses.
They’ve been operating successfully for 18 years, helping Australian business owners grow through strategic marketing plans, advice and ongoing consultancy.
For most of that journey, the business has been heavily founder‑led.
And let me tell you — it is a well‑oiled machine. The systems are established. The service works. The reputation is strong. The founder knows exactly how to sell the offering and has spent nearly two decades refining what works.
Now, he’s ready to start handing over the sales function.
That creates a huge opportunity for an ambitious, hungry and driven Business Development Manager who wants far more than just their next sales job.
Initially, your mission is simple:
Learn the playbook. Win clients. Put numbers on the board.
You’ll work directly alongside the founder, who will personally coach and mentor you on the sales process, the small‑business market and how to sell the company's consultancy offering.
You’ll be responsible for bringing new small‑business clients into the organisation through a combination of inbound opportunities, outbound business development, networking, referrals and events.
But there's a much bigger picture.
Once you've demonstrated that you can consistently deliver results, you'll have the opportunity to grow the sales function, build a team underneath you and step into sales leadership.
This is an opportunity to inherit a proven sales engine — and then help take it to another level.
We're looking for someone who is hungry to build something.
You aren't walking into a startup trying to figure out whether the model works.
You're joining an 18‑year‑old business with a proven offering, established processes, and a founder who has successfully driven its sales for nearly two decades.
You'll effectively be learning the playbook directly from the person who built it.
Perform, and this role can evolve from Business Development Manager → Sales Leader → building and managing your own team.
For an ambitious salesperson who wants mentorship, autonomy and the opportunity to eventually take ownership of an entire sales function, this could be a seriously exciting career move.
