Job summary

Douglass Hanly Moir Pathology invites applications for a Hospital Scientist for our Wagga Wagga laboratory at Calvary Hospital Riverina, on a permanent full-time basis. You will contribute to transfusion, haematology, blood film morphology, coagulation and biochemistry, working as part of a dedicated team in a 24-hour operation.

The role requires a relevant science degree with 3–5 years' haematology/blood bank experience, strong computer skills, and reliable venepuncture ability.

Qualifications

• Relevant Science degree (Medical Science or recognised AIMS equivalent).
• 3–5 years experience in haematology and/or blood bank preferred.
• General computer skills and venepuncture experience valued.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment without direct supervision.
• Understanding of quality control techniques.
• Must be able to live and work in Australia on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities

• Perform transfusion, haematology, blood film morphology, coagulation and biochemistry analyses.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary laboratory team.
• Rostered hours to cover the operational hours of a 24-hour laboratory.
• Maintain accuracy and quality in a diagnostic setting.
