Job summary

NSW Health Pathology at Blacktown Hospital invites applications for a Medical Laboratory Scientist (Scientific Officer) on a temporary full‑time basis up to February 2027. The position offers 38 hours per week, a salary range of AU$79,433.52 to AU$113,298.98 per year plus superannuation, and opportunities to develop across Haematology, Biochemistry and Transfusion services.

Applicants should hold a Bachelor degree in Science/Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent, with strong teamwork,

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or higher in Science/Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in delivery of pathology services in Haematology, Biochemistry and Transfusion departments.
• Good oral and written communication, report writing and data interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a range of operational laboratory activities and coordinate scientific training.
• Oversee quality management and continual process improvement of laboratory practices.
• Ensure compliance with operational standards, safety and privacy requirements.
