Job summary

NSW Health Pathology is seeking Medical Laboratory Assistants for the Wagga Wagga Base Hospital. You will participate in blood collection, specimen reception and processing, data entry, and transport, supporting patient care in a 24/7 laboratory environment.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Pathology, Pathology Collections or Pathology Assistance or equivalent experience in a pathology setting.
• Experience or demonstrated ability to learn pre-analytical environment tasks, including phlebotomy.
• Ability to handle competing priorities in a demanding environment.
• Proficient data entry and high attention to detail with confidentiality.
• Willingness to work a 24/7 rotating roster including weekends and nights.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to high-quality pathology service in a busy lab.
• Perform pre-analytical duties: collections, receiving and triaging specimens, patient registration and request entry.
• Process specimens and prepare for transport or delivery to labs for testing.
• Support logistics and transport to ensure timely diagnostics.
