Job summary

St Vincent's Health Australia in Sydney is seeking a Technical Assistant 2 for a Permanent Part-Time/Casual role in Central Specimen Reception, SydPath, St Vincent's Hospital, Darlinghurst.

You will rotate Monday to Sunday with occasional overnight shifts, and you'll assist with specimen reception, pre-analytical processing, labeling, and transfer of blood products to ensure timely analysis and high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Pathology qualification or related field
• Strong teamwork and proactive attitude
• Excellent verbal and written communication with customer service focus
• High-level data entry skills and attention to detail
• Ability to prioritise, multitask and work across CSR areas

Responsibilities

• Manage and process medical request forms for timely turnaround and quality patient care
• Deliver exceptional customer service via phone enquiries and stakeholder contact
• Perform specimen reception and preparation: labelling, centrifugation, aliquoting, storage
• Operate pre-analytical processing equipment and assist with lab housekeeping, courier duties
