Job summary

St Vincent’s Private Hospital Brisbane is seeking a Technical Assistant Grade 2 (Year1-3) to join the Central Specimen Reception team in Sydney. You will rotate on a roster that may include overnights, manage medical request forms, and deliver high-quality patient care with professional client communication.

The role requires pathology-related qualifications or experience, strong teamwork, and meticulous data entry abilities.

Qualifications

Proven qualifications and/or practical experience in pathology or a related field.
Strong teamwork skills with a proactive attitude and ability to collaborate in a busy setting.
Excellent verbal and written communication with a professional telephone manner and customer focus.

Responsibilities

Rotating roster Monday to Sunday with potential overnight shifts.
Accurately manage and process medical request forms for timely turnaround and patient care.
Deliver exceptional customer service by responding to client enquiries and acting as a key contact for stakeholders.
Perform specimen reception and preparation activities including labelling, centrifugation, aliquoting and storage.
Operate pre-analytical processing equipment and assist with housekeeping, maintenance and courier duties.
