Job summary

Macmahon Underground is returning to New Zealand and seeking experienced Paste Crew to join our team at the Snowy River Gold Mine Project near Reefton on New Zealand's South Island.

As part of this exciting opportunity, Macmahon will deliver underground development, production and backfill services from October 2026. You will monitor paste fill systems, install and maintain underground infrastructure, and help ensure safety and efficiency on site.

Qualifications

• Unrestricted manual NZ drivers licence (essential).
• Current Forklift Licence and/or IT Carrier ticket.
• Working at Heights and Dangerous Goods training is preferred.
• IT tickets and site-specific safety procedures must be followed.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and operate paste fill reticulation infrastructure and piping.
• Install and maintain bulk heads and walls.
• Install and maintain underground infrastructure such as vent doors, escapeways, ladders and fixed pumping equipment.
• Maintain detailed records of paste fill activities and report discrepancies.
• Champion safe work practices and contribute to a collaborative team culture.

About the Role

We are looking for Experienced Paste Crew, where you will monitor the performance of paste fill systems to ensure they meet the engineering specification for the mine. You will also install and maintain underground infrastructure

Responsibilities

• Install maintain and operate paste fill reticulation infrastructure and piping.
• Install and maintain bulk heads and walls
• Install and maintain underground infrastructure such as vent doors escapeway ladders and fixed pumping equipment.
• Competent in all aspects of service crew
• Keep detailed records of paste fill activities and report any discrepancies.
• Unrestricted Manual driving licence, Working at Heights, Dangerous Goods, scaling and IT Tickets required.
• Champion safe work practices and contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture.

What You'll Bring

• Previous Paste Crew experience, ideally within mining or construction.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• A safety-first mindset with the ability to follow site procedures.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid Class 1 (unrestricted manual) New Zealand drivers licence (essential)).
• Current Forklift Licence and/or Integrated Tool Carrier (IT) ticket.
