Macmahon New Zealand is seeking experienced Boilermaker Welders to join our team at the Snowy River Gold Mine Project near Reefton on New Zealand’s South Island. In this hands-on role, you'll carry out fabrication, maintenance and repair work on a modern underground mining fleet, including newly commissioned equipment.

Working alongside a skilled maintenance team, you'll play a key role in maintaining equipment reliability while further developing your trade skills in a dynamic underground

Qualificações

• Australian or New Zealand recognised trade qualification is required.
• Experience maintaining underground mining equipment, preferably Sandvik fleets.
• Experience performing onsite repairs including bucket, tray body and structural rebuilds.
• Competency in MIG, TIG and Stick welding, with relevant welding certifications.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and work plans.

Responsabilidades

• Fabricate, repair and rebuild metal components and structures.
• Complete welding, gouging, cutting and related fabrication tasks to a high standard.
• Conduct weekly bucket and blade condition inspections and reporting.
• Interpret drawings and work plans to complete repairs and modifications.
• Source materials required for fabrication and repair activities.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports.
• Assist with general workshop and site duties as required.

In this hands‑on role, you'll carry out fabrication, maintenance and repair work on a modern underground mining fleet, including newly commissioned equipment. Working alongside a skilled and supportive maintenance team, you'll play a key role in maintaining equipment reliability while further developing your trade skills in a dynamic underground mining environment.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, repair and rebuild a range of metal components and structures.
• Complete welding, gouging, cutting and related fabrication tasks to a high standard.
• Conduct weekly bucket and blade condition inspections and reporting.
• Interpret engineering drawings and work plans to complete repairs and modifications.
• Source materials required for fabrication and repair activities.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports.
• Assist with general workshop and site duties as required.

What You’ll Bring

• Australian or New Zealand recognised Trade Qualification (Cert III or equivalent)
• Proven experience maintaining and repairing underground mining equipment, preferably Sandvik fleets.
• Experience performing onsite repairs, including bucket, tray body and structural rebuilds.
• Competency in MIG, TIG and Stick welding, air arc gouging, cutting and lancing, supported by relevant welding certifications.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and work plans.
• Strong focus on safety, quality workmanship and teamwork.
• Experience using maintenance management and reporting systems.
• Valid unrestricted manual New Zealand Class 1 or Australian C Class Driver's Licence (essential).
