Job summary

Marble Group is seeking experienced underground paste crew operators for a large-scale gold operation in Central NSW. The role offers a lifestyle-friendly 2:2 roster, 12-hour shifts, and camp accommodation with meals.

The contract is long-term, with DIDO/FIFO options and a pathway to permanent roles after 26 weeks. You'll work in a modern underground operation, supporting paste backfill and related services across multiple areas.

Qualifications

• Underground hard rock mining experience is essential.
• Past experience with paste backfill operations is advantageous.
• Experience with underground services, pipework or similar is valued.
• Strong safety focus and ability to work effectively in a crew.
• Current driver's licence required.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, repair and maintain paste reticulation, pipework and related infrastructure.
• Assist with stope preparation, paste line set-up, inspections and monitoring during pours.
• Construct paste barricades and establish underground exclusion zones.
• Participate in installing ventilation infrastructure and support systems.
• Operate underground equipment including ITs, work baskets and light vehicles.

Job description

Join a well-known underground mining contractor at a large-scale hard rock operation in Central NSW. This is a long-term opportunity for experienced paste crew operators looking for a lifestyle-friendly roster, strong earning potential and the chance to progress into a permanent position.

• Lifestyle-friendly 2:2 roster (7 days, 7 nights, 14 off)
• 12-hour shifts with accommodation and meals provided
• Long-term contract with an established underground mining contractor
• DIDO / FIFO options available with DIDO allowance or flights paid
• Start as a casual labour hire contractor with the intention of moving to a permanent position after 26 weeks / 12 swings (extremely likely but not guaranteed)
• Ongoing training, development and opportunities to progress into senior and leading hand positions

The Mine Site

Based in Central NSW, you'll be working at a large and established gold mining operation with both open pit and underground operations. The underground mine is relatively new and continues to ramp up production, providing plenty of long-term work and development opportunities.

The Role

Working as part of the underground paste crew, you'll support paste backfill operations alongside general underground services, construction and infrastructure work. It's a varied position suited to someone comfortable getting involved across different areas of the underground operation.

• Install, inspect, repair and maintain paste reticulation, poly and steel pipework
• Assist with stope preparation, paste line set-up, inspections and monitoring during pours
• Construct paste barricades, RDPBs and establish underground exclusion zones
• Install and maintain ventilation infrastructure, wall support and underground services
• Operate underground equipment including ITs, work baskets and light vehicles

Roster & Camp

The position offers a genuine two-weeks-on, two-weeks-off lifestyle roster, with everything taken care of while you're on swing.

• 2:2 roster (7 days, 7 nights, 14 days off)
• 12-hour shifts - approximately 5:30am to 5:30pm / 5:30pm to 5:30am
• Private ensuite accommodation at a purpose-built camp in Central NSW
• Buffet-style breakfast and evening meals provided
• Daily shuttle bus between camp and site

Your Background

We're looking for people with underground mining experience who are comfortable working within a hands-on crew environment. Previous paste experience will be highly regarded, particularly for the more senior positions.

• Previous underground hard rock mining experience
• Paste crew, underground services, pipework or similar experience highly regarded
• Experience operating underground equipment such as ITs and work baskets advantageous
• Strong safety focus with the ability to work effectively within a crew
• Current driver's licence and a reliable, positive approach to work
