Job summary

Marble Group is hiring for an underground mining trades role, based in regional South Australia with FIFO arrangements. You will support both workshop and underground operations across a diverse fleet of UG mining equipment.

Responsibilities include surface and underground maintenance, diagnostics and field service, along with repairs on development drills, load & haul machinery and ground support equipment. A recognised mechanical trade is required and safety is a top priority.

Qualifications

• Must hold a recognised mechanical trade qualification.
• Experience in underground hard rock mining.
• Exposure to drills, boggers, trucks and ground support equipment.
• Ability to work in both workshop and field environments.

Job description

The Site and FIFO

The operation is a large underground hard rock mine located in regional South Australia, approximately one hour's flight from Adelaide. Backed by a multi-year contract, the site provides a high-quality FIFO experience.

Site features include:

• Modern, well-appointed camp facilities including gym and wet mess
• Camp located close to the mine to minimise daily travel
• High-quality catering and food standards
• 2:2 roster - days, then nights, followed by 14 days off
• Interstate flights provided from major capital cities

The Role and Duties

You will be part of an experienced trades team working across both the workshop and underground environments, supporting a diverse fleet of UG mining equipment.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Surface and underground workshop maintenance including servicing, repairs, PMs, scheduled maintenance and breakdown response
• Field service work including diagnostics, fault finding, repairs and problem-solving
• Working on a variety of underground equipment including development drills, load & haul machinery, ground support and charge-up equipment

Roster & Hours

• 2:2 roster consisting of 7 days, 7 nights, followed by 14 days off
• 12-hour shifts on a Wednesday-to-Wednesday swing
• Fly to site on Day -1 (Tuesday) and stay in camp prior to commencing day shift at 6:00am
• Fly home Wednesday morning at approximately 8:00am, with interstate connections arranged where required

Your Value

You will hold a recognised mechanical trade qualification and have current or recent experience working in underground hard rock mining.

You will also bring:

• Exposure to drills, boggers, trucks and/or ground support equipment
• Ability to work effectively in both workshop and field environments
• Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work independently when required
• Capability across mechanical, hydraulic and basic electrical fault finding
• A strong safety-first mindset and commitment to site protocols
