Job summary

Marble Group in Central NSW is seeking an experienced Leading Hand HD Fitter for a long-term underground mining project. You will work 80% on the tools and 20% in leadership, coordinating maintenance and mentoring a small team.

The role offers flights from Brisbane, 2:2 roster, accommodation and meals provided, with a pathway to permanent employment and OEM training for career progression.

Qualifications

• Australian-recognised Heavy Diesel or Mobile Plant trade qualification.
• Previous leadership, supervisory or Leading Hand experience.
• Underground hard-rock mining experience.
• Strong fault-finding skills and the ability to work autonomously underground.
• Current driver's licence with a safety-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Complete servicing, planned maintenance, diagnostics and repairs.
• Provide hands-on maintenance support across underground workshop and field.
• Leading and mentoring a team of HD Fitters and Auto Electricians.
• Coordinating workloads and maintenance priorities to improve equipment availability.
• Supporting safety, quality, training and continuous improvement.

• Up to $90.00ph + super with a pathway to permanent

The Opportunity

• Up to $90.00ph + super during the initial 26-week contract through Marble
• Genuine pathway into a permanent role with the contractor after 26 weeks
• 2:2 roster consisting of seven days, seven nights and 14 days off
• Accommodation, meals and daily transport between camp and site provided
• Long-term project with OEM training and future leadership or technical progression available
• FIFO from Brisbane on a charter flight

The Role

Working within a small underground maintenance team, you'll spending 80% of your time on the tools and 20% carrying out leading hand responsibilities. Your duties will include:

• Completing servicing, planned maintenance, diagnostics, breakdown repairs and general repairs
• Providing hands‑on maintenance support across both the underground workshop and field
• Leading and mentoring a team of HD Fitters and Auto Electricians across daily maintenance activities
• Coordinating workloads, planned maintenance and breakdown priorities to improve equipment availability
• Supporting safety, quality, training and continuous improvement across the maintenance team

The Equipment

You’ll work across a varied underground fleet, including:

• Sandvik drills, boggers and underground trucks
• Volvo integrated tool carriers
• Supporting underground light vehicles and ancillary equipment as required

Your Skills and Experience

You’ll be an experienced underground HD Fitter who is comfortable remaining hands‑on while supporting and leading a small team. You’ll also have:

• Australian-recognised Heavy Diesel or Mobile Plant trade qualifications
• Previous leadership, supervisory or Leading Hand experience
• Underground hard-rock mining experience
• Strong fault‑finding skills and the ability to work autonomously underground
• A current driver's licence and a safety‑focused, reliable approach to work
• Experience maintaining Sandvik underground equipment, particularly drills, will be highly regarded.

The Roster and Camp

Enjoy an even‑time roster with comfortable accommodation and everything provided while you’re away for work.

• 2:2 roster consisting of seven days, seven nights and 14 days off
• 12-hour shifts, running approximately 5:30am to 5:30pm
• Private hotel‑style room with an ensuite and access to local gym facilities
• Buffet‑style breakfast and dinner provided, along with crib for each shift
• Daily shuttle bus to and from site, with travel taking approximately 25 minutes
