Job summary

OneStop Fire is seeking an installer to join our specialist passive fire team in the Sydney metro. You will work alongside crews installing and rectifying passive fire systems while learning the trade on the job.

The role suits hands-on individuals who are reliable, with a willingness to learn and able to work from drawings and instructions. We offer above award wages, PPE and tools provided, immediate start for the right person, and a supportive team focused on delivering compliant fire

Qualifications

• Trade experience — passive fire, carpentry, plumbing, electrical or HVAC background.
• Confident with hand tools and reading drawings.
• Willingness to learn the trade properly and take direction.
• Own reliable transport.
• Construction Induction (White Card).
• Reliable, punctual and good to work alongside.
• Experience working in occupied buildings and strata (handy, not essential).

Responsibilities

• Install and rectify passive fire systems alongside crews.
• Prepare penetrations and install to tested systems.
• Tag and photograph work for certification.
• Site work primarily in the Sydney metro area with potential wider NSW/ACT assignments.

Passive fire protection is the part of a building nobody sees and everybody depends on. Fire-rated walls and floors, and the sealing of every pipe, cable and duct that passes through them. It's what keeps a fire in the room it started in, long enough for people to get out.

It\'s a specialist trade, and there aren\'t many people who can do it properly. The work is driven by compliance rather than construction cycles, which means it does\'t dry up when the market slows. Consistent, reliable work.

OneStop Fire is a passive fire protection contractor working across commercial, strata, industrial and institutional buildings. Passive fire is the only thing we do. We\'re a small team, we\'re growing, and we need another installer on the tools now.

What you\'ll be doing

Working alongside our crews installing and rectifying passive fire systems — fire collars, fire-rated sealants and mastics, batt systems, fire-rated board, wraps and dampers. Preparing penetrations, installing to the tested system, then tagging and photographing your work so it can be certified.

Our sites are predominately in the Sydney metro area. At times we may have works in the wider NSW/ ACT including Wollongong, Newcastle etc, however this would be coordinated and communicated in advance and additional penalty rates would apply.

What you need

• Trade experience — passive fire, carpentry, plumbing, electrical or HVAC background
• Confident with hand tools, and comfortable working from drawings and instruction
• A genuine willingness to learn the trade properly and take direction while you do
• Your own reliable transport
• Construction Induction (White Card)
• Reliable, punctual, and good to work alongside

Handy, but not essential

• Working at heights, EWP ticket or confined space training
• Experience working in occupied buildings and strata
