Job summary

VDI Australia is seeking a Parts Manager for our Prestons operation. This hands-on leadership role will own the day-to-day parts operation, lead the warehouse team and work with Service, Workshop, Warranty and Sales to support customers nationwide.

You will develop leadership capability, manage inventory, coordinate freight, and maintain safety and compliance in a fast-growing national business.

Qualifications

• Experience in heavy vehicle/parts operations is essential.
• Previous supervisory or management experience is preferred.
• Pentana experience is mandatory for this role.
• Strong knowledge of heavy-duty vehicle parts and inventory control.
• Experience with inventory management, stocktaking and reporting.
• Current C Class Driver Licence required; High Risk Work Licence for forklift is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the parts team, provide direction and support.
• Own the day-to-day parts operation for Prestons, ensuring timely parts and service.
• Build strong customer relationships with knowledgeable advice and responsive service.
• Manage inventory, stock levels, replenishment, stocktakes and NSW reporting.
• Prepare quotations, estimates and customer orders.
• Coordinate freight/logistics including inbound sea/air freight and dispatch.
• Monitor backorders and review stock/service issues and VOR requirements.
• Maintain a safe, organised and compliant warehouse operation.
• Track KPIs and customer outcomes to identify improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with Service, Workshop, Warranty and Sales teams.
