Job summary

Catering Industries Pty Ltd in Narangba, QLD is seeking a Part-Time Weekend Chef to join a welcoming aged care facility. You will cook nutritious meals for residents, adhere to HACCP and QA standards, and work with a supportive culinary team.

Reporting to the Chef Manager, the role runs Saturdays and Sundays from 6.00am to 2.00pm. The ideal candidate has 3+ years in a similar role, aged care experience, a Cert III in commercial cookery, and reliable transport.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience in a similar role, aged care experience highly regarded.
• Cert III in commercial cookery desirable.
• Experience in large volume cooking as well as work autonomously and in group settings.
• Reliable and punctual.
• Collaborative and team player.
• Ability to multi-task and perform work within deadlines.
• Experienced in ordering, delivery and handling/control of stock.
• Empathy and respect towards aged care residents, staff and clients.
• High level of QA, WH&S, HACCP and Food Safety knowledge.
• Must have reliable transport.

Responsibilities

• Ability to produce high quality meals in line with aged care food service/HACCP guidelines, Quality Assurance procedures including low and high care residents.
• Assisting in menu design, changes and implementation.
• Assist withputting away of deliveries & general kitchen clean up duties.
• Good all-rounder in kitchen i.e. scones, cakes, desserts, soups.
• Responsible for preparation of special diets such as puree, gluten free and texture modified etc.
• Excellent organization skills and the ability to multi-task.
• Function within a busy kitchen whilst working harmoniously with the team.
