Job summary

University of Sydney is seeking an experienced Senior Museum Registration Officer – Acquisitions and Loans, part-time (3 days per week). The role leads documentation and management of loans, and administers acquisitions including Cultural Gifts, ensuring records are accurate and compliant.

You will work within the Chau Chak Wing Museum team, supporting collection care, policy development, and best-practice documentation to enhance accessibility and governance of the collection.

Qualifications

• Extensive museum/gallery collections experience.
• Advanced EMu proficiency and data management skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and improvement skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Experience with movement, packing, storage and location control.

Responsibilities

• Lead documentation and management of inward and outward loans.
• Administer acquisitions, including Cultural Gifts.
• Ensure records are accurate, compliant and accessible.
• Support policies, procedures and documentation practices.
• Contribute to collection care in exhibitions, storage and handling.
