Job summary

The University of the Sunshine Coast is inviting applications for a Technical Assistant (Science) in the Academic Support Unit. The role supports undergraduate Science teaching by preparing laboratories, equipment and consumables for practical classes, and by assisting with pack-up and cleaning.

Some travel between campuses may be required. You will work alongside experienced technical staff to maintain a safe, well-organised learning environment and contribute to positive student outcomes in a

Qualifications

• Diploma or combination of relevant experience and education/training.
• Experience providing practical and technical support in a teaching or laboratory environment.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, collaborative teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing, setting up and packing down equipment for Science practical classes.
• Prepare simple solutions, aliquot materials, label tubes and restock consumables.
• Clean, maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment and facilities as required.
• Support safe and effective operation of teaching laboratories following University procedures.
