Job summary

West Gippsland Healthcare Group in Warragul VIC is offering part-time student nursing or midwifery roles (RUSON/RUSOM) within the Learning and Development Unit.

These fixed-term positions run January 2027 to January 2028, with 8 to 36 hours per week across 7 days, supervised by Registered Nurses or Midwives.

You will support patient care appropriate to your education, gain experience in acute, subacute, maternity and aged care settings, and receive comprehensive orientation.

Qualifications

• Current enrolment in a Bachelor of Nursing, Bachelor of Midwifery, or Bachelor of Nursing/Bachelor of Midwifery double degree.
• Current AHPRA registration as a student nurse and/or student midwife.
• Successful completion of at least 12 months of undergraduate study at commencement.
• Demonstrated satisfactory academic progress.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• A thorough understanding and respect for confidentiality requirements.
• Responsible and mature work attitude.

Responsibilities

• Provide delegated aspects of patient care appropriate to their level of educational preparation.
• Work under the supervision and delegation of Registered Nurses or Registered Midwives.
• Gain practical experience in a range of clinical settings while developing your professional skills and preparing for a future career in healthcare.
