Gladstone Regional Council is seeking a Rates Officer on a maximum term, part-time basis (39 hours per fortnight for six months). The role focuses on processing and updating the rating system and handling customer enquiries with accuracy and efficiency.

Candidates should have experience in financial services, interpret legislation and work well in teams or independently. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and driving in Queensland are required.

Qualifications

• Provide confidential assistance in processing and updating the rating system and databases.
• Experience in financial services, preferably rates environment, with knowledge of activities and services.
• Experience interpreting and applying legislation, policies and procedures.
• Experience communicating with customers, management and employees.
• Problem solving and interactive skills for handling enquiries before escalation.
• Ability to plan, prioritise and organise work tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team and independently.
• Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient keyboard skills and experience with Microsoft Office and corporate systems.
• Legally able to drive a motor vehicle in Queensland.
