Job summary

Accorhotel is seeking a part-time Payroll Officer to join our Finance team in Queensland. You will manage end-to-end payroll processing, ensure compliance with Australian payroll legislation, and maintain accurate payroll records while delivering insightful labour cost reporting to support decisions.

Reporting to the Assistant Financial Controller and Director of Finance, you will collaborate with department managers to monitor labour costs and support workforce planning in a hospitality-focused

Qualifications

• Experience in a Payroll Officer/Payroll Administrator role.
• Knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and awards.
• Understanding of Hospitality Industry Award (HIGA).
• Knowledge of payroll compliance and employee entitlements.
• Experience using payroll and time & attendance systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Confidential information handling with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Process end-to-end payroll accurately and on time.
• Ensure compliance with payroll legislation including Superannuation, PAYG, Payroll Tax, WorkCover, and Fringe Benefits Tax.
• Review and validate timesheets and roster data prior to payroll processing.
• Process commencements, changes, and terminations.
• Prepare and reconcile payroll journals after each pay cycle.
• Maintain payroll records with confidentiality.
• Monitor annual, personal, and long service leave provisions.
• Coordinate Long Service Leave transfers between properties and Head Office.
• Administer and reconcile WorkCover claims and payments.
• Prepare payroll reports and labour cost analysis for management.
• Participate in weekly payroll and labour cost meetings.
• Support end-of-year payroll obligations and reporting.
• Assist with accounts receivable and other finance tasks.
