Job summary

RubixHR in Brisbane seeks an experienced Payroll Officer to join our Finance team on a part-time basis (22.5 hours across 3 days). You will deliver accurate payroll services, liaise with HR and external providers, and ensure compliance and timeliness across the business.

The role requires strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, high accuracy, and proven experience with ADP or similar systems, plus a proactive approach to process improvements and customer service.

Qualifications

• End-to-end payroll experience in medium to large organisations.
• Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and taxation.
• High accuracy and attention to detail.
• Experience with ADP or similar payroll systems.
• Experience working with outsourced payroll providers.
• Experience payroll system implementations or process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Act as payroll SME and advise employees with sound problem-solving techniques.
• Ensure compliance with payroll legislation, standards, policies and procedures.
• Manage fortnightly payroll and ad-hoc pays with the outsourced provider.
• Liaise with HR to obtain staff details for payroll processing.
• Maintain electronic employee master files and accurate timesheets.
• Complete payroll processing including timesheets, leave and adjustments.
• Perform month-end reconciliations of PAYG, super, and payroll ledgers.
• Support payroll system updates in line with legislation changes.
