Job summary

NSW Health Pathology is seeking a Medical Laboratory Assistant - Pathology Collector / Phlebotomist for the Tenterfield Collection Centre at Tenterfield Hospital. This permanent part-time role offers 3 x 4-hour morning shifts Mon-Fri with training provided.

You will perform venepuncture and data entry, with specimens sent to Glen Innes or other NSW Health labs. Join a small team delivering frontline pathology services to the local community, with opportunities for growth and flexibility within

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Pathology Collections or venepuncture experience.
• Demonstrated customer service skills and effective communication with patients and staff.
• Problem solving and troubleshooting in clinical environments.
• Willingness to learn broad collection, data entry and specimen prep practices.
• Current NSW C‑Class driver’s licence or ability to travel to sites.
• Shift work including weekends and travel within the operational area.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to a customer-focused pathology collection service across inpatient, outpatient and home care settings.
• Perform venepuncture and other duties pertaining to specimen collection, data entry, processing, and delivery into sites for pathology investigations as required.
