Job summary

NSW Health Pathology at Tweed Valley Hospital is seeking a Medical Laboratory Assistant - Pathology Collector / Phlebotomist for a temporary part-time role (20 hours/week) until October 2027 with potential ongoing employment. You will collect blood samples, perform venepuncture, and assist with data entry and specimen processing in a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Pathology Collections required or prior venepuncture experience.
• Demonstrated customer service experience and skills with patients and clinical staff.
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting in a clinical environment.
• Proficient computer skills with high data accuracy and attention to detail.
• Current NSW C‑Class driver’s licence or capacity to travel between sites.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to a customer‑focused pathology collection service across settings.
• Perform venepuncture and specimen collection, data entry and processing.
• Deliver specimens to sites for pathology investigations as required.
