Job summary

NSW Health Pathology is seeking dedicated Medical Laboratory Assistants to join the team as Pathology Collectors/Phlebotomists. Permanent Part-Time roles across multiple hospitals, 25 or 20 hours per week, with competitive hourly remuneration and superannuation.

Join a friendly, patient‑centered team providing high‑quality specimen collection services and compassionate care. Applicants must have WWCC and be willing to travel and work shifts as required.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Pathology Collections and/or venepuncture experience.
• Demonstrated customer service and effective communication with patients and staff.
• Problem solving and troubleshooting in specimen handling and transport to maintain specimen viability.
• Familiarity with pathology terminology and willingness to learn collection practices including paediatric and neonate collections.
• Willingness to travel to any site within the operational area and participate in shift work including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to a customer-focused pathology collection service across inpatient, outpatient and home care settings.
• Provide high-quality service to referrers and consumers; perform venepuncture and related duties.
• Ensure accurate data entry and timely delivery of specimens for pathology investigations.
