Job summary

The Salvation Army in Bega Valley is seeking a Ministry Coordinator to support and grow its mission through pastoral care, faith development, and community programs. This onsite, part-time role focuses on engaging volunteers, coordinating local programs, and building welcoming spaces for people to explore faith and receive support.

You will work under the Area Officer, managing programs, reporting, and events, including Red Shield Appeal activities, while upholding safeguarding and WHS

Qualifications

Experience in ministry, community engagement or a related field.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with diverse groups.
Ability to recruit, train and support volunteers and lay leaders.
Commitment to the mission and values of The Salvation Army.
Willingness to undertake safeguarding checks and training.

Responsibilities

Provide pastoral care, Bible studies and faith-based activities to foster belonging.
Deliver practical support and referrals to individuals and families in the local community.
Build partnerships with churches, community groups and Salvos Stores.
Recruit, train and supervise volunteers; manage day-to-day program activities and fundraising.
