Job summary

seek.com.au is seeking a warm and detail‑oriented Medical Secretary to join our Urogynaecology team in East Melbourne. This part-time role is two days per week with the potential to increase hours, and requires a minimum of two years’ medical secretarial experience, ideally in private practice with gynae exposure.

You will handle appointment bookings, patient communications, billing, and theatre coordination in a modern, paperless clinic environment.

Qualifications

• Must have minimum two (2) years Medical Secretarial experience.
• Private Specialist experience is mandatory – Gynae surgical experience viewed favourably.
• Applicants with no experience will not be considered.

Responsibilities

• Working in a paperless practice.
• Meeting and greeting patients on arrival to practice.
• Effective management of emails and phone calls in a courteous manner.
• Booking consultation appointments.
• Arranging procedure dates and providing relevant information to patients.
• Ensuring operating theatre lists are compiled and submitted to relevant parties (hospitals, anaesthetists, surgical assistants) in a timely manner.
• Billing and invoicing of consultations and procedures.
• Receipting of payments and banking.
• Other tasks and responsibilities as required by the surgeon and physiotherapists.
