Job summary

Yamanto Family Practice in Ipswich is seeking a friendly Medical Receptionist to be the first point of contact for patients, delivering a warm, organized reception experience.

You will handle phone calls, appointment scheduling, patient registration, and basic admin while collaborating with doctors and nursing staff. Familiarity with Best Practice and Medicare workflows is a plus, with ongoing learning in a fast-paced clinic.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a GP clinic.
• Understanding of Medicare and DVA and WorkCover billing procedures
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Positive attitude, adaptability, and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients with a professional and friendly demeanour
• Answer phone calls and schedule appointments efficiently and accurately
• Register patients and update demographic information as required
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the reception area
• Liaise with doctors, nursing staff, and other healthcare providers to support smooth patient flow
• Assist with administrative duties such as emailing, faxing, and data entry
