Job summary

Dorevitch Pathology in Frankston is recruiting an experienced Scientist - Multi Skilled (Max Term) to join a busy pathology laboratory. You will handle specimen receipt and processing, operate a range of analysers, perform rapid PCR, and contribute to QC and external proficiency programs.

The role requires a BSc (MLS) or equivalent, strong QC knowledge, independence, and teamwork. You will work a 60 hours per fortnight roster across a 24‑hour schedule with rolling rosters and holiday shifts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Laboratory Science) or equivalent
• Demonstrated experience and skills in the discipline
• Sound knowledge of QC, QAP and troubleshooting
• Ability to identify and implement quality and service improvements per accreditation standards
• Independent work with minimal supervision
• Commitment to quality and excellence
• Positive, collaborative team member with good communication

Responsibilities

• Specimen receipt and processing
• Use and maintenance of analysers listed (AU680, DxC700AU, XN1000 etc.)
• Rapid PCR on GeneXpert
• Perform seminal analysis
• Perform STAT Microscopy
• QC monitoring
• Participate in Internal and External surveys
• Liaison between departments and external customers (hospital staff)
