Job summary

St Joseph's Primary School Merriwa, a small rural Catholic school, seeks a Temporary Part-Time Learning Support Assistant (6.5 hours per week, with potential for more in term 3) to join the team for the rest of the year.

The role supports teachers, assists in classroom activities, and helps students with disability to grow academically and spiritually within a faith-filled learning community. It requires WWCC, anaphylaxis training, and a relevant education support qualification.

Qualifications

• Articulate a clear understanding of and commitment to Catholic education and the mission of the Church
• Experience working with students with disability (K-12)
• Ability to work under direction of a teacher and with school staff
• Ability to deliver interventions and administer assessments under supervision
• Implement adjustments for individual students and groups
• Assist with student enrolment and transitions under supervision

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in school routines, classroom activities and care of students with disability
• Assist with learning and inclusion in line with Catholic education
• Contribute to a faith-filled educational experience for students and families
