Job summary

Eltham East Primary School, part of the Department of Education Victoria, seeks a Japanese language teacher for a 0.4 FTE position (two days per week). The role may be filled by one full-time or two part-time teachers, with responsibilities across Prep to Year 6 and collaboration with school leadership.

Applicants should have registration to teach in Victoria and demonstrate experience delivering Japanese language programs, with a focus on literacy and numeracy, assessment and data-informed

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including the ability to incorporate literacy and numeracy.
• Demonstrated experience in planning for and implementing high impact teaching strategies.
• Demonstrated experience in monitoring and assessing student learning and using data to inform teaching.
• Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills and ability to collaborate with families and community.
• Alignment with department values and commitment to professional learning.
• Capacity to plan and teach Prep-Year 6 Japanese language.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups of students and individual students.
• Contribute to development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum programs.
• Undertake other classroom duties as determined by the Principal.
• Engage in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions.
• Undertake other non-teaching supervisory duties.
