Job summary

Montessori Academy is seeking a proactive Handyman to oversee maintenance across our SA childcare centres. You will fix furniture, service HVAC and plumbing, and ensure safety standards are met to support a welcoming learning environment for young children.

You should have 1–2 years of hands-on maintenance experience, a current driver's license, and a willingness to obtain a Working with Children Check. We offer stable hours, a collaborative team, and opportunities for ongoing training.

The Role

We are seeking a skilled Handyman to join our team and oversee maintenance operations across our childcare centres in SA. This position requires a proactive individual with a strong background in maintenance and repair work.

Responsibilities

• Fixing broken furniture


• Repairing or replacing broken toys and play equipment


• Fixing minor plumbing issues


• Cleaning gutters


• Pressure cleaning exterior surfaces


• Touching up paint on walls or furniture


• Changing light bulbs


• Cleaning and maintaining HVAC systems


• Keeping outdoor areas tidy


• Responding promptly to urgent maintenance issues


• Ensuring emergency exits are clear and operational


• Installing new equipment or fixtures as needed


• Setting up temporary structures for events or activities


• Mowing lawns and maintaining outdoor landscaping

Essential Criteria

• Working with Children's Check Clearance

• 1-2 years experience in a similar role
