Job summary

The ELO Group is seeking a reliable Maintenance & Grounds Lead to keep our childcare centres across Sydney safe, well maintained and inviting.

This is a full-time, mobile role that travels between Sydney centres, performing maintenance, groundskeeping and improvement works. You will work with Centre Managers to prioritise needs and ensure high safety and presentation standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance, handyman work, landscaping, groundskeeping or facilities management.
• Confident using common tools and equipment.
• Strong practical problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage your day.

Responsibilities

• Mowing, whipper snipping and general garden maintenance.
• Landscaping and outdoor improvements.
• Completing scheduled handyman and maintenance jobs.
• Inspecting playgrounds, gates, fencing, sandpits and outdoor areas.
• Carrying out minor repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Identifying and addressing potential safety or maintenance issues.
• Pressure washing and general outdoor cleaning.
• Completing small improvement and refurbishment projects.

Job description

We are looking for a reliable, practical and hands-on Maintenance & Grounds Lead to help keep our childcare centres across Sydney safe, well maintained and looking their best.

This is a full-time, mobile role for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in their work and prefers being out and about rather than working at the same site every day.

You will travel between our Sydney childcare centres, generally spending the day at one location, completing scheduled maintenance, groundskeeping and improvement works. You will play an important role in creating safe, welcoming and well-presented environments for our children, families and team members.

About the role

Your day could include:

• Mowing, whipper snipping and general garden maintenance
• Landscaping and outdoor improvements
• Completing scheduled handyman and maintenance jobs
• Inspecting playgrounds, gates, fencing, sandpits and outdoor areas
• Carrying out minor repairs and preventative maintenance
• Identifying and addressing potential safety or maintenance issues
• Pressure washing and general outdoor cleaning
• Completing small improvement and refurbishment projects
• Working with Centre Managers to prioritise maintenance needs

Our centres log maintenance jobs in advance, allowing you to arrive onsite with a clear list of priorities and focus on getting the work done.

About you

You do not need to be a qualified tradesperson, but you will need to be practical, capable and confident tackling a wide range of maintenance tasks.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience in maintenance, handyman work, landscaping, groundskeeping or facilities management
• Is confident using common tools and equipment
• Has strong practical problem-solving skills
• Can work independently and manage their own day
• Takes pride in completing work properly and to a high standard
• Has a strong focus on safety, presentation and preventative maintenance
• Is reliable, organised and communicates well
• Is comfortable travelling between locations across Sydney
• Holds a current driver's licence
• Has access to a reliable vehicle
• Experience working in schools, childcare, aged care, hospitality, property maintenance or other multi-site environments would be highly regarded.
