Job summary

Children's Ground is seeking a part-time Financial Independence Assistant to support First Nations staff and families in the Northern Territory, Monday to Thursday. The role focuses on financial literacy, budgeting and linking people to services that promote stability and wellbeing.

You will assist with housing applications, tax, government programs and savings strategies, working closely with local staff. A current Driver’s Licence and willingness to undergo a National Police Check and NT OCHRE

Qualifications

Experience supporting First Nations staff and families.
Patience to support staff and facilitate programs.
Current Driver’s Licence.
Willingness to undergo National Police Check and NT OCHRE Working with Children Check.
Certificate in financial counselling would be advantageous.
Background in government services, NFP or social support organisations.

Responsibilities

Facilitate programs to increase financial independence for participants.
Provide individual support to staff with housing, tax, government programs and budgeting.
Promote resources for financial management and debt avoidance.
Work with Workforce Development Coordinator and People & Culture Coordinator to ensure staff documentation.
Engage with local First Nations people and communities on financial wellbeing.
Monitor and report records into Children’s Ground systems.
Assist First Nations staff with timesheets and internal IT systems.
